Cost & Tuition Tips
Community College

Low cost, open to all high school grads. You can complete 2 years, then transfer (TAG) into many UC campuses.

CSU

23 campuses. Minimum ~2.5 GPA, but higher is better. No SAT/ACT, no essays, no rec letters.

UC

9 campuses. Minimum ~3.0 GPA, but 3.7+ is more competitive. No letters of rec. Takes PIQs / essays.

Private

Extremely varied — aim for 3.7+ GPA, strong SAT/ACT, multiple essays, strong extra‑curriculars, letters.
